The story which was crafted way back in 1995 continues with the same quintessentially vibrant mode. Yes, we’re talking about HCL Infosystems’ flagship ‘home multi-media PCs’ which gleefully went under developers’ scalpels continually, but each time, the fighting machine has emerged stronger and smarter. “Innovation is an integral part of HCL Infosystems’ operational philosophy, and we strictly abide by this principle”, says George Paul, Executive Vice President, HCL Infosystems Ltd. At a time when the PC ecosystem has freshly been augmented (launches of Windows7 and Intel’s 2010 Core Processors), HCL Infosystems has tactically positioned its time-tested Beanstalk PCs in the Indian market. Powered by Intel’s latest processors (Core i3 and Core i7) and Microsoft’s highly successful Windows7 Operating System (OS), the latest launch of models in ‘Beanstalk Classic’, ‘Beanstalk Ultima’ and ‘Beanstalk Xtreme’ are all set to write yet another chapter of excellence and technical accomplishments. “HCL Infosystems wears many laurels on its sleeves and has always pioneered the latest technology for the Indian consumers. We’ve successfully maintained a strong position in the desktop category and have delivered best of the breed computing and entertainment experience to the deserving millions of the Indian populace. With the launch of these versatile machines, we’ve authored yet another trend for a smarter computing lifestyle”, says Paul. “The return of HCL Beanstalk PCs is a significant step towards expanding our leadership positioning in the high-end desktop space. HCL Beanstalk will transform the mainstream consumer experience by bringing a whole rich world of multimedia, entertainment, education and lifestyle features”, adds he. The launch also highlights a coming together of many technology leaders including nVIDIA and BOSE (Of course, Microsoft and Intel). “We’re leveraging our robust ‘partner-ecosystem’ for delivering the performance, and set the trend for a smarter computing lifestyle”, says the exuberant Paul.
For long, Microsoft and HCL Infosystems have been working with great R&D synergy. “We’ve enjoyed a very long partnership with HCL. This goes back to the days when first ‘home PC’ was introduced by HCL in India. Today, we’re delighted to further cement our long term association with HCL Infosystems. With Windows 7, Microsoft has built an Operating System (OS) that makes newer things possible. It is the PC simplified, and customers will experience faster, smarter and more secure operating system which works the way they want”, says Rishi Srivastava, Group Director OEM, Microsoft India. On the other hand, Intel has always inspired HCL Infosystems into coming out with the Beanstalk class of PCs in India. In fact, at every phase of its evolution, Intel has worked coherently with ‘India’s own IT company’. “The HCL Beanstalk range uses Intel’s 2010 Core processors which carry the highly intelligent feature called ‘Turbo Boost Technology’ (for adaptive performance, and thus smarter computing). PCs using this technology automatically accelerate performance, adjusting to the workload to give users an immediate performance boost when needed. The Core i7 processor, for example, is energy efficient to the point of shutting down processing cores or reducing power consumption to provide PC performance when people need it. Consumers can now experience smart performance for music, gaming, videos, movies, photos, social networking and other demanding mainstream applications”, says Paul.
As the multimedia, in its audio-visual manifestation, demands additional graphics capability, HCL Infosystems has tied-up with nVIDIA, one of the two leading GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) companies so that the newer class of Beanstalk gives the best PC experience. “Consumers want blazing fast performance—whether blasting their way through the latest games or being socially responsible and sharing their PC’s processing power to help find cures for diseases. HCL has just made this easier by pre-loading a set of applications that utilize the power of NVIDIA’s GeForce graphics cards. We’re proud to be associated with HCL”, says Nishant Goyal, Head of Sales, South Asia, NVIDIA Corp.
