Tenda brings in A18 range extender for dual-band routers

By Digital Edge Bureau, 14.03.2018, 07:59

Tenda A18 would help dual-band routers to spread their 5Ghz and 2Ghz bands to further range

In a notable development, Tenda has launched a universal compatible 1200Mbps dual-band range extender in model A18 in India. The A18 would help dual-band routers to spread their 5Ghz and 2Ghz bands to further range.

This range extender comes equipped with LED lights to suggest users of its optimal position deployments for efficient network spread. Keeping Plug & Play concept in mind, A18 can be configured in three easy steps through PCs, tablets and even smartphones.

“Noticing the growth of dual-band routers in India, it was a rational move by Tenda to launch A18 in India, considering the range limitation that 5Ghz have, this range extender will serve as perfect extension to any Dual-Band Wireless Router without compromising its speed” said Frank Rao, G.M. India & SAARC Tenda.

Evolving Technology and people employing dual-band routers, the real-life usage of the 5Ghz band has grown drastically, but the truth of dual-band is that even though 5Ghz offers a wider path for your data to get transferred, it lacks the range of 2.5Ghz Band. Unless the dual-band router is specially equipped with the power amplifier, the 5Ghz band in most routers offer a limited range, compared to 2.5Ghz. Yes, one can go for a bigger range dual-band router or bridge one’s dual-band router to another router through a wire for extended range. But if one takes that into account, it would need long cabling and technical setup as well as an unwanted hassle to get it operating correctly. The Tenda A18 is available at Rs 2, 200.
